Hello all. I'm looking to make a list of all the Fire Nation citizens who aren't "enlightened" or banished; in other words, loyalists. So if you have a Fire Nation character, bender or otherwise, who is still loyal to the Fire Nation, please post the name here.

Honestly, I would make a character thats a fire nation baddie, but I can't really find the inspiration as of yet. I was going to have, originally, have Xun be a more darker character, but now he's more of a reformed one.

Well, I'm starting to think there's not much point. All a Fire Nation character can really do is battle scenes or solo posting(ie-story). And it's like I said, nobody wants to be a bad guy, for whatever reason. The assumption is made that if you're Fire Nation, you're evil. But we've seen that most of the population is the victim of propaganda which begins in youth, and soldiers....well, they're soldiers. They follow orders. Of course there are evil guys in the Fire Nation, like anywhere else. But it's mainly just the leaders and highbrows that really understand what's going on.

Jeez' Now you've got me trying to come up with a charrie. I just can't do it. I guess that its so hard because all of the fire nation people in the show are 'clones' that just follow orders. I can't make a charrie like that and I have noinspiration for an EVIL charrie, so, I'm sorry. I'll keep on trying, but for now, I'll just applaud your ability to do what a lot of us can't.

On this, and every other Avatar fansite on the web, loyal Fire Nation members are scarce as chicken teeth. Firebenders aren't so rare, but they have this interesting tendency to be banished or have this super special understanding of firebending and have become enlightened. Some ran away. In fact, the entire Avatar community is full of 14 year old bloodbenders/lightningbenders/lavabenders who were abused/orphaned as children and ran away from home. Eh well. This is my punishment for watching a tv show aimed at the younger demographics.
Evil characters are harder to write than good guys. Depending on the character, it can be significantly harder. But it's a fun challenge. In fact, my second favorite rp character that I've done was a bad guy. If anybody would like help designing a villain or all-around <insert dirty word here>, you can drop me a PM.

I used to play a character, way back on IRC in an escaflowne RPG. His premise was he was soldier forever loyal to the Zaibach Empire (bad guys) but whose faith in command was unbreakable.
He would of course attempt complain at his fellow's actions, but was so overwhelming loyal that he would often request to speak freely regarding such things and get shut down or serve as a catalyst for the other "villains" to start at each other's throats.
He epitomized the honorable soldier on the wrong side of the war. A man who was given to duty before his own morale compass, because he believed the order of the empire often followed that compass. A tragic villian if you will.
Really, the hard problem with making a good villain is the fact the fire nation is such a totalitarian state. Anyone who schemes or speaks out against the firelord for his own gains, are found out and thrown into the furnace.
However, there are concepts out there. If I wasn't fairly new to this board. I'd consider taking up your offer.
She hath wasted with fire thine high places, she hath hidden and marred and made sad. The fair limbs of the Loves, the fair faces, of gods that were goodly and glad. She slays, and her hands are not bloody; She moves as a moon in the wane, White-robed, and thy raiment is ruddy, Our Lady of Pain. - Dolores, Algernon Charles Swinburne

I wouldn't recommend it. It appears I made a mistake in making a Fire Nation loyalist, because I'm the ONLY ONE. You remember in Animal House when that gang of white boys walk into a blacks-only bar and everybody stops and stares at them? Yeah....feels kinda like that.
All the inspiration I had for Zeinzu is completely gone now. May have to redesign him to be just another deserter. Maybe start a club for turncoats to sit around and drink tea. That'd be ducky.
Anyhow, point is, Fire Nation is just a lost cause. Don't do it. Just go ahead about be a 9 year old bloodbender.

Who could argue with that?
